Remembering Batang Rizal (Narrative Essay)
Who will forgot the name "Dr. Jose Rizal"? Well, none especially in the heart of the Filipino because he is our National Hero. Dr. Jose Rizal sacrifices his life to the Spaniards only to saved us and so we can attained our freedom in the Philippines. First, let us reminisced and recall his teenage life before he became our National hero when we watched last January 18, 2013 the day of our stage play at the Assumpta Theater, a play entitled "Batang Rizal".
In a sunny morning, all of the high school and elementary students are in their red Marello shirt together with our teachers. We are excited because we want to see what the story is all about. It is also the SAC election day after the results of the votes, we ate our lunch and play some games in our room. After that, we go out and went to Assumpta Theater. We arrived in a few minutes the students of DAZSMA having conversations with their friends. Then, after we waited about an hour, we entered the theater and find our sits until the play started. Me and my friends are chatting and having fun while waiting. When the lights dimmed, the students get excited because it means the play will begin. Some characters appeared on the stage and explain some rules and regulations that we need to be done.
Batang Rizal is about a child’s journey destined to be a hero. Pepito, a young boy from the future. During their preparation of the celebration of the Buwan ng Wika at Jose Rizal Elementary School. Pepito is faced with a big problem he must find a way to replace the broken statue of our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal that the mayor donated from their school. Pepito went to their library and opens a magical book that becomes a magical portal to the past and future he went to the past and there he met the Pepe, which is Jose Rizal and finds himself exploring
colonial Calamba in Laguna.
They went back to the present time together with Jose Rizal or Pepe. As they talks about the real life of Jose Rizal from now. Pepito's friends met Pepe then they didn't not believe that he is Jose Rizal. They give Pepe some questions to believe that he is the teenager Jose Rizal from the past. Then, their friends was shocked because of the questions that are all correct. Afterwards, they became more than friends and they help each other to replace a new statue. Until the time that they are celebrating the Buwan ng Wika, Pepito and his friends are happy because of the new statue also their teacher and the mayor. While Pepe back to his real time. This story bring happiness, friendship, and entertainment to us because of the jokes, teasing, and other funny moments of the story.
After that wonderful play, we all went back to the jeepney and went again to our school with enjoyment because of what we had experience watching the play. We therefore, understand the real meaning of heroism of a Filipino. Jose Rizal may be gone, but in our hearts and soul he still alive. Dr. Jose P. Rizal is our national hero and let us not forget him. We should treasure what he done to our nation. Really, that day was a very memorable one not only for me, but also for those who watched the play.
